The USS Rankin Association's Fourth Annual reunion was held in New London, Connecticut, from November 1-4, 2007, at the Radisson New London hotel. A total of 83 people attended.
The hotel is in the heart of downtown, and those who came in a day early got to experience a New London Halloween. It was quite an interesting thing — just ask Skip Sander.
A bunch who came in on Thursday spent the evening at the Foxwoods Casino, mostly losing more than they won, but enjoying every minute of it.
Friday's tours included USS Nautilus (SSN-571), the world's first nuclear submarine; the Submarine Force Museum; and the U. S. Coast Guard Academy, with visits to the Coast Guard Museum and the on-campus Coast Guard exchange.
On Saturday we visited the famous Mystic Seaport, not only getting to see the wonderfully restored village, but also to tour an authentic sailing ship and experience the joys of a New England Nor'easter.
For this reunion, we have this Main Page plus two others. Use the buttons below to view the 2007 Reunion Memory Book, including pictures of all attendees and a recap of all our activities, or to view other photos from the reunion.
