These photos show some of the damage to the submarine that struck an undersea mountain while on a high-speed submerged run on January 8, 2005. The collision killed one sailor and injured 60 others. Click Here to see a newspaper account of the accident and its aftermath.

The pictures were taken in Apra Harbor, Guam. The ship in the background is the USS Frank Cable (AS 40), one of two forward-deployed tenders that maintain our subs in far-off ports.
